About Expat Guide Holland
Expat Guide Holland rebuilds a useful historical resource as a current, source-led guide for internationals across the Netherlands.
Editorially reviewed
What this site is for
Expat Guide Holland helps international workers, partners, students and families orient themselves before and after a move to the Netherlands. It combines nationwide formalities and daily-life guidance with practical city pages for Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Maastricht.
The domain previously hosted an English-language newcomer guide. We researched archived URL lists and page titles to identify its legitimate subject areas. We did not reproduce archived articles or images. Every guide on this rebuilt site is newly written and should be judged by its current usefulness.
How we research
We begin with the authority responsible for a decision: for example, the IND for residence permits, a municipality for registration, the Tax Administration for tax facilities and transport operators for live journeys. Each page links readers onward so that time-sensitive details can be checked at source.
Editorial rules include:
- no invented prices, schedules, eligibility decisions or property details;
- clear limits where a question needs case-specific professional advice;
- a visible review date on every guide;
- correction or removal of links that no longer support the stated fact;
- no restoration of hacked, commercial-inventory or irrelevant legacy URLs.
Expat Guide Holland is independent and is not Holland Expat Center South, a Dutch government body, municipality, the IND or a tourism board. Names of those organisations appear only to help readers find the responsible source.
Corrections
If an official link has moved or a factual summary is no longer accurate, please use the route described on the contact page. Include the page address and the source that supports the correction. Immigration, tax, medical and employment questions should go directly to the competent authority or a qualified adviser.
